A Napa County sheriff's official identified the victim as a Southern California man who also may have had a Citrus Heights address.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — A driver who died in a solo vehicle crash in unincorporated Napa County Tuesday evening has been identified by the county sheriff's office as Patrick Joseph Malley II, 48, of Carlsbad in San Diego County. Sheriff's Capt. Steve Blower said Malley might also have a Citrus Heights address.

Malley was allegedly speeding in a 2016 Chevrolet Camaro east on state Highway 128 east of Wragg Canyon Road around 5:45 p.m. when he lost control of the vehicle, drove off the road and crashed into a tree, California Highway Patrol Officer Marc Renspurger said.

A passenger in the Camaro, a 45-year-old Sacramento woman, suffered major injuries and was flown by CHP helicopter to Kaiser Permanente Vacaville Medical Center, Renspurger said.
