2 Children Killed In Napa Crash, Mother Suspected Of DUI

The car went off the road and struck a tree, killing two children and majorly injuring the driver, according to CHP.

NAPA, CA — A mother of two young children who were killed in a Sunday morning collision in Napa has been arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence, the California Highway Patrol said.

The woman was allegedly speeding southbound on state Highway 29 in Napa just after 7 a.m. when she exited onto the West Imola Avenue ramp, went off the road and struck a tree.

Two children-- a boy aged 10 and girl aged 9-- were killed, and the driver, Yesica Barajas, 31, received major injuries.

Barajas was taken to the hospital and once she is medically cleared, she will be arrested on suspicion of DUI, CHP said.

The identity of the children has not been released and investigators are still working this case, according to CHP.
