2 in North Bay Chased Down, Arrested on Firearms Charges

BREAKING: An officer patrolling an area in Fairfield initially spotted a male with a gun in his hand at an apartment complex.

NORTH BAY, CA -- A teenager and an adult have been arrested after an officer found them in possession of firearms in the Solano County city of Fairfield, police said.

Around 3 p.m. on Jan. 24, Fairfield Police Officer Jerrod Mack was patrolling the area around the 1100 block of Washington Street when he saw a male suspect walking briskly away from an apartment complex with a gun in his hand, police said.

The officer approached the suspect and told him to stop, but the suspect ignored him and instead entered the passenger side of a vehicle, according to authorities. The driver of the vehicle fled the scene, driving north on Washington Street, ignoring the officer's orders to stay in place.

In addition to the driver and suspect, there was a third passenger in the back seat of the vehicle, police said.

Additional officers responded and quickly located the vehicle near North Texas Street and Travis Boulevard. After officers stopped the vehicle and detained all three passengers, a search of the car uncovered a loaded .40-caliber Glock pistol inside the glove compartment.

According to police, the first suspect spotted holding the gun was identified as a 15-year-old male from Fairfield, whose identity is being withheld because of his age. He was arrested on suspicion of numerous
gun-related offenses and resisting an officer.

The driver of the vehicle was identified as Tyler Daily, 21, of Fairfield, and was arrested on suspicion of numerous offenses, including resisting an officer, police said.

The third occupant of the vehicle was released, police said.
