3 Injured When Hot Air Balloon Hits Power Line Near Yountville
One person was airlifted to a hospital for treatment of serious injuries, while two others were taken by ambulance, a fire official said.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Three people were injured when a hot air balloon hit a power line near Yountville Monday morning, a Cal Fire captain said. One person suffered serious injuries and was taken to a hospital by helicopter, while two people who suffered minor to moderate injuries went to a hospital by ambulance, Capt. Aaron Loscar said.
The incident happened around 8:10 a.m. in the area of Ragatz Lane and Washington Street, Loscar said.
The Napa County Sheriff's office also responded to the incident, sheriff's spokesman Henry Wofford said.

The balloon was registered to Balloons Above the Valley, according to the Federal Aviation Administration. According to the FAA and the website of Balloons Above the Valley, the company is based in Napa and the founder Bob Barbarick has been flying balloons in the region since 1975.
The pilot of the balloon wasn't immediately available to comment Monday evening.

An FAA spokesman, Ian Gregor, said 20 people were on board.
FAA data show the balloon was manufactured in 2017.
