6 Killed, 2 Injured In Minivan Crash In Napa County
Six people were pronounced deceased at the scene.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Six people were killed and two injured Sunday evening during a solo vehicle crash into a tree in an unincorporated area of Napa County, according to the California Highway Patrol.
The crash was first reported just before 6 p.m. at 6198 Pope Valley Road, northeast of Calistoga along a scenic, vineyard lined byway.
According to the CHP, a Toyota Sienna minivan with multiple occupants was discovered off the side of a road by officers at about 5:50 p.m. Investigators believe that the minivan was traveling southbound on Pope Valley Road when, for reasons still under investigation, the driver allowed the car to leave the roadway, where it struck a tree.

Six people were pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the vehicle and one other occupant were airlifted to local trauma centers for treatment of major injuries, CHP Sgt. Andrew Barclay said.
Pope Valley Road remains closed as of 9:30 p.m. as CHP personnel investigate the crash.
