AMERICAN CANYON, CA — American Canyon police arrested a Vallejo man in connection with a vehicle burglary Thursday morning.

Officers received a report at 7:30 a.m. about a break-in earlier that morning in the 5000 block of Main Street in American Canyon.

Officers reviewed video footage of the incident. Information indicated a male wearing a dark hoodie and driving a blue Honda broke the back window of a parked car, then reached into the car and stole the victim’s luggage, police said.

About an hour later, officers found the same blue Honda in the area and conducted a traffic stop, and detained the driver — identified as 32-year-old Vallejo resident Timothy Mitchell.

Police said Mitchell was wearing the same clothing the suspect in the video had on when breaking into the car. The video also showed the burglar had a device to break windows. Further, broken glass was found on the floorboard of the Honda, police said.
