CalFresh To Flow Again, Napa County Halts Emergency Funds

Napa County halts a plan for emergency grocery cards as California releases November CalFresh benefits covering Nov. 1-10.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Napa County has halted the plan to make $1 million in emergency funds available for the county's food assistance recipients.

That means holding back grocery and meal gift cards the county planned to make available this week to more than 10,000 Napa county residents who depend on CalFresh food assistance benefits.

CalFresh recipients will receive a letter notifying them of the cancellation, and those who have enrolled in text messaging will also receive a text regarding this cancellation, according to county officials.
