California is home to several volcanoes, three of which are considered a high threat.

CALIFORNIA -- Geologists around the world, including in California. are keeping an eye on volcanoes after Hawaii's Kilauea volcano erupted last week. In the Golden State, California is home to several volcanoes, three of which are considered a high threat.
A Sacramento Bee story reported the three volcanoes listed as a "high threat" are Mount Shasta, Mount Lassen and Long Valley.
"The threat is real," said Margaret Mangan of the California Volcano Observatory in an interview with the Sacramento Bee. "The potential for another volcanic eruption in the state of California is on the order of one in 100 to about one in a couple thousand in any given year."
