Measure G, approved by the voters in the November 2024 election, will provide the resources necessary to enhance road maintenance, repair sidewalks, revitalize parks, and support public safety and other critical services. The City Council identified these priorities when placing the measure on the ballot, ensuring the tax revenue directly addresses the needs of Napa’s residents.
With the measure now officially passed, City staff will present a plan to the Council that prioritizes road maintenance and sidewalk repairs, aiming to accelerate projects in time for the summer 2025 paving season. Parks throughout the city will also benefit, with much-needed upgrades and repairs to create safer, more enjoyable spaces for all residents.

“This funding enables us to act swiftly on pressing infrastructure and community needs,” said Steve Potter, City Manager. “We are committed to transparency and collaboration as we allocate these resources to projects that will have the greatest positive impact on Napa’s quality of life.”
As mentioned in an open letter from the city manager, the City Council will establish an Oversight Committee which will include community members and provide additional public input opportunities. This committee will play a crucial role in reviewing expenditures and ensuring that the funds are directed to initiatives that reflect the needs and priorities of our residents. The process for appointing committee members will be inclusive and transparent, ensuring diverse representation and a steadfast commitment to fiscal responsibility.
Managing the City of Napa’s financial future wisely and addressing long-term financial impacts prudently will remain at the core of our approach, focusing on addressing long-term financial challenges, such as any impacts of other ballot measures, trending reduction of “gas tax” revenues, inflation and the projected reduction of Vehicle License Fee (VLF) funding. By planning strategically and leveraging Measure G funds responsibly, the City will aim to mitigate these financial pressures, strengthening our community’s fiscal health over the long term.
The City of Napa extends its gratitude to the voters for their support and engagement throughout this process. Measure G represents a shared vision for a vibrant and sustainable Napa, and the City is dedicated to ensuring the responsible and effective use of these funds.
