Napa Valley vineyards especially shine for their standout white wines, including a top-ranked Chardonnay from Calistoga’s Aubert, underscoring the region’s range beyond Cabernet Sauvignon and reinforcing its global reputation for quality and excitement.

Cock-a-doodle-don't: Napa County approves new rooster restrictions to thwart cockfights (localnewsmatters.org) — Napa County has approved strict new limits on how many roosters residents in unincorporated areas can keep, aiming to curb cockfighting and noise issues. Depending on parcel size, properties may be barred from keeping roosters altogether or capped at one to four birds, with the rules taking effect February 1, 2026 and some exemptions for regulated food production.
   

3. 3-bedroom home in Napa goes for $1.43 million (pressdemocrat.com) — A three-bedroom home on Morlan Drive in Napa just sold for $1.43 million, offering a snapshot of current neighborhood prices. Several nearby Napa properties also closed this year between about $719,000 and $925,000, giving residents a clear sense of how local single-family home values are trending.

Providence announces March closure date for Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital pediatric unit (pressdemocrat.com) — Napa residents who rely on Providence’s regional network should know that the pediatric inpatient unit at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital will close March 27, 2026, with the space converted to adult care. While Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa remains part of Providence’s system, critics fear low-income families across the region will face longer trips and fewer local options when children need overnight, non-emergency hospital care.

CA Ranks #1 As Most Christmassy State In The USA: List (patch.com) — California just ranked as the most “Christmassy” state in the country, and Napa gets a shout-out as part of the state’s standout wine country holiday scene.
