Covered California Open Enrollment Began Nov. 1: What To Know

Napa County reminds residents that open enrollment is underway and runs through Jan. 31.

NAPA COUNTY, CA —Covered California has started taking applications for 2025 health care coverage.

The Open Enrollment period started Nov. 1, 2024, and continues through Jan. 31, 2025. Open enrollment is the time of year when everyone can apply for a plan through Covered California. Outside open enrollment, people who experience qualifying life events can apply during special enrollment.

Medi-Cal and Covered California use the same application. Medi-Cal offers free health coverage for California residents who meet eligibility requirements. Covered California offers financial assistance in the form of subsidies to help pay for your health insurance.

After you enter your information on www.CoveredCA.com you will find out whether you qualify for Medi-Cal or financial assistance with Covered California.

Before you apply, you may explore programs and benefits available to you. Use the Shop and Compare tool on www.CoveredCA.com to determine your potential health coverage eligibility.

Napa County residents who need assistance with the application or have questions about the process can contact Covered California’s call center at 800-300-1506. The call center is open Monday-Friday 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. and closed on major holidays.
