Crash, Brush Fire Resolved; Highway 29 Reopens In Napa
Multiple lanes were shut down on the highway in the city of Napa.

NAPA, CA — Highway 29 reopened around 8 p.m. Monday after an earlier crash and brush fire resulted in a shutdown of freeway lanes near First Street in Napa.
Authorities first responded around 3:30 p.m. Monday to a report of a traffic collision on northbound SR-29 near First Street. Witnesses also reported a fire was burning in the trees and brush along the freeway.
Personnel from the Napa Police Department, Napa Fire Department, and the California Highway Patrol were all on the scene.

An ambulance crew also responded. There was no immediate word on injuries.
At 4:30 p.m., the Napa Police Department confirmed northbound SR-29 was closed at Imola Avenue because of the crash and brush fire. Police said to expect delays and use alternate routes if possible.

At 5:35 p.m., Napa police said public safety activity was continuing on northbound Highway 29, with one lane open at First Street.
"Emergency crews are still on the scene," police said. "Drive with caution."
In another update at 6:45 p.m., police said emergency crews were still working in the north and southbound lanes of Hwy 29 at First Street to deal with spot fires. Police asked the public to drive with caution and avoid the area if possible.
In a final update at 8:01 p.m., the Napa Police Department said all public safety activity in the area of Hwy 29 and First Street ended, and the highway was open.
