Crews Clear Tree From Highways 29, 128

A tree fell late Monday night, blocking the roadway in Calistoga for several hours.

CALISTOGA, CA β€” All lanes of state Highways 29 and 128 in Calistoga are now clear after a tree fell on the roadway and blocked it early this morning, Calistoga police said. The roadway was cleared around 4:18 a.m., according to police.

The tree fell on the roadway somewhere between Dunaweal Lane and Pine Street at 911 Foothill Boulevard in Calistoga around 11:38 p.m. Monday, according to a Calistoga police dispatcher and the California Highway Patrol. The dispatcher couldn't confirm how the tree fell on the roadway.

Police dispatch said PG&E and AT&T crews had to shut down active lines that have been struck by the tree before it was removed.

A PG&E official said no customers were affected by a power outage due to the down tree.
