Final Full Weekend Closure Of Eastbound SR-37 Set For Friday

Once the weekend paving work is completed, Caltrans has scheduled alternating full overnight weekday closures.

SONOMA, NAPA AND SOLANO COUNTIES, CA — The last scheduled eastbound Highway 37 weekend full highway closure between Sears Point in Sonoma County and Mare Island in Solano County is scheduled to start Friday night and conclude early Monday.

During the closure, Caltrans is performing major pavement repair work.

Eastbound SR-37 will be closed and traffic detoured beginning at the eastbound SR-37/SR-121 interchange in Sonoma County.

Eastbound Detour

(Caltrans District 4)

Motorists traveling eastbound on SR-37 will need to exit left onto northbound SR-121 in Sonoma; Make a right on SR-12/SR-121(Carneros Highway) and continue; right on SR-12/SR-29; enter left for the connector loop off-ramp back to eastbound SR-37.

Alternating Overnight Closures Start Monday

Once the weekend paving work is completed, Caltrans has scheduled alternating full overnight weekday closures on both westbound and eastbound SR-37 to paint new lane lines on the newly paved roadway. This work is called striping work.

To ensure the safety of workers and motorists, Caltrans will need to fully close westbound and eastbound lanes on alternating nights starting Monday, May 20. One traffic direction of SR-37 will remain open while work is performed in the opposite traffic direction.

Westbound Closures

(Caltrans District 4)

Westbound SR-37 between the SR-37/SR-29 interchange in Vallejo and the SR-37/SR-121 interchange in Sonoma County is scheduled to be closed from 9 p.m. Monday, May 20, until 4 a.m. Tuesday, May 21, and again from 9 p.m. Tuesday, May 21 until 4 a.m. Wednesday, May 22. Eastbound SR-37 remains open Monday and Tuesday nights.

During Westbound SR-37 closures, motorists traveling westbound on SR-37 will need to:

  1. exit right onto northbound SR- 29 (Sonoma Blvd) in Vallejo
  2. continue on NB SR-29 (Broadway) to SR-29/SR-12;
  3. turn left and continue on SR-12/SR-121 (Carneros Hwy/Fremont Dr);
  4. turn left on SR-121 (Arnold Dr)
  5. Turn right back on WB SR-37.

Eastbound Closures

(Caltrans District 4)

Eastbound SR-37 between the SR-37/SR-121 interchange in Sonoma County and the SR-37/SR-29 interchange in Vallejo will be closed from 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 22 until 5:30 a.m. Thursday, May 23, and again from 9 p.m. Thursday, May 23, until 4 a.m. Friday, May 24. Westbound remains open Wednesday and Thursday nights.

During eastbound SR-37 closures, motorists traveling eastbound on SR-37 will need to:

  1. exit left onto northbound SR-121 in Sonoma;
  2. Make a right on SR-12/SR-121(Carneros Hwy) and continue;
  3. Right on SR-12/SR-29; Enter left for the connector loop Off-ramp back to EB SR-37.
