SACRAMENTO, CA – Former Senator Bill Dodd today announced the launch of Dodd and Chaaban Strategies, a new government relations and public affairs firm in partnership with his longtime chief of staff Ezrah Chaaban.

β€œI spent my 25-year career in public service helping to solve problems, and I’m excited that in this new venture I will continue doing that,” said Dodd. β€œIt’s a chance to use my knowledge, experience and relationships to bring people together and find solutions. After retiring from the Legislature, I wanted to find new ways to move our state and communities forward, and that’s exactly what this new firm will do.”

Dodd and Chaaban Strategies will provide comprehensive government relations services, including legislative affairs and budget advocacy, state regulations, procurement, and city and county land use and contracting. The firm will also specialize in counseling clients on political engagement, media outreach and communications, and coalition building. Per state law, Senator Dodd won’t engage in any lobbying activity before the state Legislature this year.

Dodd spent 15 as a County Supervisor and 10 years in the Legislature, before being termed out of office late last year. During his time in the Seante and Assembly, he passed 126 of his bills into law, more than any legislator over the last decade. As Chair of the powerful Senate Governmental Organization Committee, he left his mark on issues ranging from emergency services to state contracting to consumer protection and artificial intelligence. He’s earned dozens of awards for his work and built a reputation for leaning in on tough issues and successfully negotiating deals.

Chaaban will serve as managing partner and lead legislative advocacy. He spent the last decade as Senator Dodd’s Chief of Staff, building and leading one of the most respected teams in Sacramento. Before that, directed government affairs for a trade association and managed public policy across the U.S. for a multinational company. He is also elected to the Sonoma County Junior College District, currently serving as Board President.
