Law enforcement units from Napa and Contra Costa counties fanned out Friday night to shut down illegal street racing and sideshows.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Law enforcement units from Napa and Contra Costa counties fanned out Friday night to shut down illegal street racing and sideshows.
Officers responded to two sideshows with over 200 vehicles and more than 300 spectators in Antioch.
At one, they boxed in multiple participants and seized 22 vehicles that the California Highway Patrol said were directly involved in the event.

CHP's Golden Gate Division Investigative Services Unit, the Contra Costa CHP, the CHP's Napa Air Unit, and the Antioch Police Department participated in the operation.
They made three felony and eight misdemeanor arrests, 61 traffic stops, and issued 29 citations, according to the CHP.
