'Ghost' Gun, Assault Rifles Seized In North Bay Weapons Bust

SONOMA COUNTY, CA — A probation search over the weekend led the arrest of a suspect on multiple weapons charges and the discovery of explosive manufacturing equipment, the Sonoma County Sheriff’s Office said.
Daniel Saylor of Sebastopol was arrested on suspicion of being in possession of material used to make a destructive device, possession of a silencer, possession of equipment used to manufacture a machine gun, possession of illegal drugs while armed with a loaded firearm, among other charges, the Sheriff’s Office said.
Deputies conducted a probation search Saturday in the 4300 block of highway 116 south in Sebastopol, the Sheriff’s Office said.

Saylor was among several people detained during the search, the Sheriff’s Office said.

He was carrying a loaded pistol on him and was under the influence of narcotics, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said they observed several illegal firearms in plain view during a protective sweep of the residence, the Sheriff’s Office said.
During a search deputies located several illegal weapons including assault rifles, a P80 unserialized “ghost” gun, and a silencer attached to a rifle, the Sheriff's Office said.
Saylor manufactured explosive devices retendered safe by an explosives team, the Sheriff’s Office said.
A stolen motorcycle was recovered during the search, the Sheriff's Office said.
