Man Armed With An Arsenal Of Loaded Weapons, Drugs, And Cash: Napa Sheriff

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Napa County authorities arrested a man they say had an arsenal of weapons, four pounds of cocaine, a pound of methamphetamine, multiple vials of steroids, scales, drug packaging materials, and $8,551 in cash in his home.

The Napa County Sheriff's Department identified the man as Filiberto Martinez, 36, of Dixon.

The arrest was part of a multi-agency effort including the Napa Special Investigations Bureau, which investigates drug and human trafficking in Napa County, the Napa County Sheriff’s Office, and American Canyon Police Department's K9 unit.

It is not clear what led to a joint investigation by North Bay authorities in Solano County.

During a search of multiple automobiles and a residence, investigators seized 60 firearms, including loaded pistols, rifles, machine guns, shotguns, and a Glock pistol, which had an automatic conversion switch, according to the sheriff's office. The investigators also seized short-barreled rifles (AR-15 and AK-47 variants) — some with suppressors and numerous high-capacity magazines for Glocks, AK-47s and AR-15s — the sheriff's office said.

The firearms were found stored (and loaded with ammunition) in multiple vehicles and the bedrooms of the home searched by the investigators (including childrens' bedrooms), the sheriff's office said.

Martinez was taken to the Solano County Jail.

His charges include possession of cocaine for sale, possession of methamphetamine for sale, possession of an assault weapon, possession of controlled substance while in possession of a loaded firearm, possession of a short-barreled rifle, possession of machine gun with automatic switch, loaning a firearm to a minor, and child endangerment.
