Suspect In Fatal Napa County Shooting Arrested

The victim was found shot to death on State Route 121, and the sheriff's office is still investigating the motive and circumstances.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Authorities have arrested a suspect in connection with the fatal shooting of a man found on the side of the road in a remote area of Napa County Sunday.

Napa County Sheriff’s Detectives said they arrested 22-year-old Vallejo resident Bryan Alexis De Paz Gomez, who also uses the name Bryan Gomez.

Deputies arrested Gomez in connection with the shooting of 20-year-old Salvador De Jesus Castillo-Hernandez. He was found at about 9:40 a.m. Sunday in the 2600 Block of Monticello Road, also known as State Route 121.

Gomez was booked into the Napa County Department of Corrections on Monday.

A caller who discovered Castillo-Hernandez told deputies that the man had blood on his clothes and wasn't moving, according to the Napa County Sheriff's Office.

Castillo-Hernandez had been shot multiple times, the sheriff's office said. The motive and circumstances of the shooting are still unknown.
