Napa County Roads To Be Impacted This Weekend During Running, Cycling Events

Several Napa County roads will be impacted by runners and bikers this Saturday and Sunday while cycling and running events take place.

NAPA COUNTY, CA -- Two running and cycling events are scheduled to take place on Napa County roads this weekend that will result in many roads being impacted -- but not completely shut off -- for a few hours each day, according to the County Public Works department.

The first is a cycling event set for 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Saturday, April 22. There are three courses, 15 miles, 25 miles and 50 miles, and all routes begin and end at Justin-Siena High School in the City of Napa.

County roads expected to be affected -- but not closed -- during the 15 mile course include: Solano Avenue, Orchard Avenue, Dry Creek Road and Linda Vista Avenue. The 25 mile course adds: Yount Mill Road, Oakville Crossroad, Silverado Trail and Oak Knoll Avenue. The 50 mile course adds Redwood Road, Oakville Grade, Chiles Valley/Lower Chiles Valley, Rutherford Rd (SR 128) and Skellenger Lane.

Motorists are advised to exercise extreme caution while traveling in the above areas.

On Sunday, April 23, a running event, the sixth annual Napa Valley Silverado Half Marathon 10K, and 5K is scheduled to take place in the Calistoga area from 7:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

During the event, Silverado Trail will be closed from Lake Street in Calistoga to Crystal Springs Road, according to Napa County Public Works.
