Napa Police Release More Details From Fatal Gun Battle In Residential Area
The Napa County District Attorney's office has released more details from a fatal officer-involved shooting in Napa on Tuesday.

NAPA, CA -- The Napa County District Attorney's Office today released more details from an officer-involved shooting that killed a man in Napa on Tuesday afternoon.
Residents in the 2300 block of Bueno Street informed Napa police at 1:54 p.m. on April 4 about a man shooting at neighbors, Assistant District Attorney Paul Gero said in a news release.
While Napa police officers set up a perimeter, a man drove a car out of his garage and into the street. As the car fled, the man began firing at officers and crashed into a tree on Linda Vista Avenue and Roberto Street,

Napa police officers and Napa County sheriff's deputies returned fire, and the driver was declared dead at the scene. His identity is being withheld until his next of kin is notified, Gero said.
No residents in the area were injured, and one police officer received a shrapnel injury during the gunfire exchange. He was treated at Queen of the Valley Medical Center and later released, Gero said.

The officers involved in the shooting have been placed on administrative leave.
The Napa County District Attorney's Office is leading the investigation into the shooting.
