Updated: Napa Sheriff Clears Bomb Threat At Courthouse

The Napa Superior Courthouse was briefly evacuated this morning due to a bomb threat. Employees are now being allowed to return inside.

UPDATE 11:45AM-

The Napa County Superior Courthouse in Napa has reopened after a bomb threat caused a brief evacuation this morning, according to a sheriff’s captain.

Someone made a bomb threat by calling a court clerk in the courthouse building at 1125 Third St. around 9:25 a.m., Napa County sheriff’s Capt. Keith Behlmer said.

The clerk then called the sheriff’s office.

About a dozen bailiffs conducted a search for about 30 minutes and the courthouse building was then cleared to reopen, Behlmer said.

The Napa County Sheriff’s Office now says the bomb threat has been cleared at the Napa County Superior Courthouse.

Employees have entered the building, according to the sheriff . Court services are set to resume.

NAPA - The Napa County Sheriff’s Office says a bomb threat has been received at the Napa Superior Courthouse, and that an evacuation is currently in place.

The Courthouse is located downtown at 1125 Third Street.

Authorities say once the building is cleared of the threat, court will resume.
