Napa Police have announced the results of a DUI saturation patrol conducted Saturday night between 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.

NAPA - Napa Police have announced the results of a DUI saturation patrol conducted Saturday night between 6:00 p.m. and 2:00 a.m.
Police say they arrested six drivers on DUI charges during 44 traffic stops in the eight-hour period.
Just two weeks ago, on Saturday, April 9, Napa police made 41 vehicle stops during a similar eight-hour stretch and also arrested six drivers for suspected DUI/Alcohol.

Napa Police say their high visibility DUI enforcement efforts have a deterrent effect of lowering impaired driving incidents, and they will continue their efforts thanks to special funding.

Here are the results of the DUI saturation patrol for Saturday night, April 23, as reported by Napa Police:

- [6] DUI-Alcohol suspects arrested
- [2] Drivers cited for driving unlicensed
- [2] Drivers arrested for various outstanding warrants
Napa Police conducted a separate distracted driving patrol last Wednesday. Of the 45 vehicle stops Napa police made, 31 citations were issued for talking on a cell phone while driving, while five drivers were caught texting.
