Suspect In Napa Killed During Shootout With Police, Sheriff's Deputies
BREAKING: Napa PD officers and County sheriff's deputies surrounded a home after a report of shots fired on Linda Vista Avenue in Napa.

UPDATE: 5:30 pm April 4 -- A suspect was killed during a shootout with Napa County Sheriff's deputies, according to the Napa Police Department.
The deceased apparently had a dispute with a neighbor and police came to the scene after reports of shots being fired on Linda Vista Avenue.
"This afternoon we received several 911 calls from concerned residents reporting that a man was shooting a gun in the area of Bueno and Linda Vista," the Napa PD wrote in a Facebook post explaining what happened. "When our officers and deputies from the Napa County Sheriff’s Department arrived on scene, the man began shooting at us as he was driving away from a residence. To protect ourselves, and the greater public, our officers fired their service weapons fatally wounding the man."

An area school was placed on lockdown, but that has been lifted, according to the NPD. No one else was injured in the incident.
There is now limited residential access to the area, according to the Sheriff's Office; residents must provide ID and be escorted to their residence.

NAPA, CA -- Linda Vista Avenue is closed from West Park to West Pueblo for the next few hours due police activity, the Napa County Sheriff's Office said shortly before 2:30 pm on Tuesday.
The Sheriff's Office did not detail the nature of the police activity, but the Napa Valley Register reported that it was due to shots being fired in the area.
