Napa Wine Country Heavyweights Put Their Muscle Behind Helping Families

Napa Valley Vintners announced a donation of more than half a million dollars to support Napa County families.

NAPA VALLEY, CA — Napa Valley Vintners, a trade organization whose members include some of the industry's biggest hitters, announced a donation of more than half a million dollars to support Napa County families.

The nonprofit trade association of nearly 550 members will give $529,000 in grants to nonprofits to support "positive, nurturing environments for children at home."

The money will go to organizations that focus on parent education and family support programs. Programs also provide resources and referral services, connecting families to critical services, according to a statement from the association.

"These grants ensure that families across Napa County have access to the education, resources and support they need to thrive, creating a lasting impact for children and caregivers alike."

The latest round is part of a Local Issues Action Plan that the association calls a comprehensive approach to addressing a number of our community’s most pressing issues — food, housing, child care and mental health services. The demand for resources to respond to these needs is expanding, along with the cost of living in Napa County. The association has recognized that Napa's wine industry has magnified the issues, and their urgency.
