Overnight Hwy 221 Lane Closures Slated 3 More Nights

Caltrans is keeping one lane of traffic open on the north—and southbound sides, but motorists should still expect traffic delays.

NAPA COUNTY, CA — Caltrans is conducting four consecutive overnight lane closures this week on a 1.1-mile stretch of state Highway 221 in Napa County.

The lane closures are for a paving project on northbound and southbound SR-221 that started Monday night and continues through Thursday night, Sept. 12, between Basalt Road and Napa Valley Corporate Drive.

Each night, work is scheduled from 7 p.m. until 7 a.m. the following day, with the final lane closure ending at 7 a.m. Friday.

Caltrans said one traffic lane will remain open each night on the north- and southbound sides.

"However, motorists should expect delays overnight as traffic lanes in each travel direction are reduced," said Ryan Leong, a spokesperson for Caltrans District 4. "Slow for the Cone Zone and Be Work Zone Alert. "

Leong also noted that all work is weather-dependent.
