Officers say they found other people’s credit cards, mail, and check templates, and both suspects are now being held at the Napa County Department of Corrections on suspicion of identity theft and related offenses.

City of Napa closes on former middle school purchase (pressdemocrat.com) — Napa has officially bought the former Harvest Middle School campus for $25 million and will start interim community use of the 26.6-acre site on January 2. Residents can expect continued access to fields and gyms while the city launches a public process next year to shape long-term recreation plans, potentially including an aquatic center or new sports facilities.

Napa County poised to lower rooster limits to combat cockfighting (pressdemocrat.com) — Napa County supervisors are moving toward strict new limits on roosters in unincorporated areas, aiming to curb cockfighting, avian flu risks, and neighborhood noise. If approved Dec. 16, most parcels would be limited to one to four roosters starting Feb. 1, 2026, with exemptions for legitimate agriculture, education, and exhibition projects and new enforcement tools for the sheriff’s office.

Napa school district kicks off new phase of construction funded by $230 million bond (pressdemocrat.com) — Napa Valley Unified is starting the next wave of Measure B construction, with demolition of old portables at Napa High underway and major exterior work at several secondary schools planned for next summer. Expect roof and HVAC repairs, playground upgrades, and classroom refreshes across all campuses, funded by the $230 million bond Napa voters narrowly approved in 2024 and repaid through local property taxes.

Basketball Recap: Napa's Luck Takes a Turn for the Worse on Thursday (maxpreps.com) — Napa’s girls basketball team saw its three-game win streak snapped Thursday in a 40–32 road loss to Rio Vista, dropping the Grizzlies to 4–2. Despite entering with a higher state ranking, Napa couldn’t slow Rio Vista’s hot offense and now has to regroup quickly for a Friday matchup against Encina.
