Pedestrian Struck, Killed On Napa Street Identified
Police say a man was crossing the street toward a hardware store when he was struck by a full-size pickup truck.

UPDATED: NAPA, CA — The Napa County Sheriff's Office has identified the pedestrian who was killed Thursday when he was struck by a vehicle in Napa as 68-year-old John Wilber Stewart of Napa County. Stewart was struck by a Chevrolet Silverado pickup at about 11 a.m. while crossing Soscol Avenue north of Vallejo Street in Napa, police Cpl. Dominic Deguilio said.
Stewart was crossing the street and walking toward the Central Valley Building Supply hardware store. He was taken to the Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa and died shortly after arrival, Deguilio said.
The male driver of the full-size truck stopped at the scene. There is no crosswalk where the collision occurred, Deguilio said.

Northbound Soscol Avenue between Vallejo Street and Imperial Way was closed for several hours Thursday as the collision was investigated.
