Napa Police arrest multiple suspects

A 45-year-old American Canyon man was arrested Wednesday by Napa Police on suspicion of burglary, receiving stolen property, possession of a switchblade and possession of burglary tools.

Darryl Robert Elmore was taken into custody at 9 a.m. at Security Self Storage, 219 Walnut St, Napa.Police said officers were dispatched to Security Self Storage for a report of burglary in progress. An employee of the storage facility was conducting a lock check of the property when she observed individuals breaking into an elderly female's storage locker.

The employee told dispatch she noticed the lock to the unit was broken and that she observed two men removing a television from inside. The employee saw one of the men place the TV into a black truck. She then saw this subject leave the complex in the truck, driving towards Old Sonoma Road.

Officers stopped the truck in the area of Imola Avenue and Freeway Drive and identified the driver as Darryl Elmore, police said.

In the bed of the truck were a TV and several other piece of suspected stolen property, along with shaved keys for various types of vehicles. A representative for the owner of the storage unit responded to this location and identified the TV as belonging to the owner of the storage unit.

Elmore was arrested and booked.

The investigation continues in attempt to locate the owner(s) of the other property in the truck, which is believed to be stolen, police said.

A 26-year-old Napa woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of shoplifting, transportation or sale of narcotics, possession of drug paraphernalia and transportation of drugs.

Bailey Ann Rudd was taken into custody at 2:22 p.m. at Kohl's, 1116 1st St, Napa.

Police said officers dispatched to the area of Kohl`s department store, located at 1116 First St, for the report of a theft in progress.

Officers were advised by dispatch that the security officer was pursuing the suspect who was fleeing the scene on a bicycle.

An officer responded to the area and located a female matching the suspect description wearing a gray shirt and riding a bike southwest on Arroyo Street.

The officer stopped this subject, who later identified as Bailey Rudd. At this time the security guard arrived and stated that Rudd had stolen make-up from Kohl’s.

Officers searched Rudd with her consent and located suspected heroin and methamphetamine in a bag that Rudd was holding, police said.

The officer and security guard searched the immediate area and located the stolen make-up hidden underneath a bush.

Rudd was arrested and booked.

 A 48-year-old Napa woman was arrested Wednesday on suspicion of felony use of force not a firearm, battery of a spouse and resisting arrest.

Angelique Rennee Avila was taken into custody just before 11 p.m. at a home in the  2700 block of Sacramento Street in Napa.

Police said officers responded to a report of a domestic disturbance with a female hitting a male with a bat. 

Upon arrival the female, Angelique Beasley, AKA- Young, Avila, and a male, whose name was not disclosed, were both present. Police said Avila allegedly lied and told officers the involved male had left, pointing to a nearby vehicle leaving. 

 The involved male fled the scene after officers went after the uninvolved vehicle. 

Avilla reported being the victim of a domestic battery at the hands of the male subject, but received no injuries.  She also allegedly admitted lying to responding officers and hitting the male with a bat. 

Avilla was arrested and booked.

An 18-year-old Vallejo-area transient was arrested Wednesday by Napa Police on suspicion of obstruction and resisting arrest.

 Eduardo Salazar was taken into custody just before 11 p.m. at Home Depot, 225 Soscol Ave., Napa.

 Police said officers responded to the parking lot, north of Home Depot on Kansas Avenue on a report of a subject who brandished a knife. 

The reporting party, Eduardo Salazar, was contacted at the scene and pointed out, Aron Galindo, 22, a transient, as the person with the knife. 

Both subjects and a third female, Patricia Myers, 57, a transient, were detained. 

Salazar failed to obey officer commands and refused to identify himself.  When officers attempted to obtain ID from Salazar, he physically resisted and was taken into custody after a short struggle by Officers and Deputies.   

There was no evidence of a knife at the scene.  Galindo and Myers were released.  Salazar was arrested and booked.
