An undercover officer spotted Douglas Dwayne CLARK, who matched the description of the man with a knife in the lot between the two businesses and directed law enforcement resources to Clark.Β A witness told police that Clark had thrown the knife, just prior to police arrival, towards a planted palm tree near the entrance to USA Gas. The knife hit the palm tree and embedded into the trunk of the tree.

Officers determined Clark brandished the knife in an angry towards many patron of the USA Gas Station, while demanding food because he was hungry.Β He also threatened to kill a lady in front of Wal-Mart while brandishing the knife.Β

CLARK was released from jail on his own recognizance after a domestic violence incident that occurred on 7/26/13 (13-3924).Β

Officers arrived and contacted Richard Hotelling and Renee Mitchel. It is alleged that an argument between the Mitchell and Hotelling occurred. Hotelling became angry and threw hot coffee into the face of Mitchell, at which time she told Hotelling to leave the residence. Hotelling refused and shoved the Mitchell against a closet. Mitchell then began to hit and scratch Hotelling several times.

The Hotelling and Mitchell had minor injuries that did not require immediate medical attention.

On 8/5/13 at approximately 2101 hours, officers were dispatched to a report fight at Friedaβs located at 1533 Trancas St. Upon arrival, officers contacted a highly intoxicated and agitated person later identified as Raul Pino Jr.

Pino failed to comply with officers and tried to walk away. Pino was detained in handcuffs and placed in a patrol car. Pino became irate and started thrashing in the rear of a patrol car damaging the door panel. Pino was removed from the patrol car and placed in a leg restraint. During the contact Pino threatened officers with bodily harm.

Officers responded to a report of a shoplifter in custody at 225 Soscol Avenue, the Home Depot store.

Store security noticed a man enter the store, who was later identified as (S) Marco Antonio Ramirez. Marco picked up several items of merchandise and exited the store without paying. Security contacted Marco outside the store near the self-checkout exit. Marco showed security a receipt from Home Depot which was from a previous transaction made by Marco`s wife. Marco is on active probation out of Napa County. All property, worth $30.80, was recovered by security.

Marco was taken into custody and booked.

An officer responded to La Tapatia Market located at 504 Brown Street for the report of a theft.

As the officer arrived at the business, an employee flagged notified the officer that the subject, later identified as S-Jose Chavez, walking westbound on Oak Street passing Randolph Street was the responsible for the theft. The officer contacted and detained Chavez.

A store clerk stated she was working at the register when she observed Chavez walking down an aisle toward her register and her. The clerk observed Chavez attempt to conceal a 24-ounce can of Steel Reserve beer in the waistline of his pants. Upon Chavez doing so, the clerk noticed that Chavez already had concealed a bottle of wine in his pants waistline. Chavez noticed that the clerk was watching him and attempted to hide behind a bread rack. Chavez then attempted to exit the store on the east side. The clerk notified another store employee that Chavez was attempting to commit a theft. Both employees approached Chavez in the back of the store, at which time he denied attempting to steal any alcohol. After approximately ten seconds, Chavez admitted to stealing the alcohol and retrieved both items (totaling approx. $8.00) from his pants and gave them to the employees. Chavez then exited the store and was last seen eastbound on Oak Street passing Randolph Street when the police arrived.

Chavez was found to be on four active probations. He was arrested and booked.
