Traffic Alert: President Obama in Bay Area Friday

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA - President Barack Obama will visit the San Francisco Bay Area Friday to attend fundraising events, White House officials said.

The White House announced Obama will attend Democratic National Committee and Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee events Friday and will stay the night in San Francisco. He will return to Washington, D.C., on Saturday.

Obama's last visit to the Bay Area was in February when he attended fundraisers in Atherton and Palo Alto and spent the night in Milpitas.

Patch contacted the San Francisco Police Department and officials of President Obama's advance team; both stated they had no local road closure information available. A message was left with the Secret Service.
