Rotary Club of Napa Launches Literacy Project
Focus on Third Grade Students in Napa Valley Unified School District

Napa, CA – October 1, 2024 -- The Rotary Club of Napa is thrilled to announce the launch of a new Literacy Project for third grade students in the Napa Valley Unified School District. In collaboration with a local bookstore and the school district, the Rotary Club of Napa aims to foster a love for reading among young students.
Project Chair James Lyon stated, "Our goal is to provide engaging literature for third graders, with Rotarians visiting schools to read to students and spark their interest in reading and storytelling."
In a successful pilot program, Rotarians read from "Wild Robot" by Peter Brown, providing the book to teachers for continued reading. The project will visit several schools, including Pueblo Vista Elementary, West Park Elementary, and others, with a lineup of books including "The Kids from Cattywampus Street," "The Magnificent Makers," "Lemonade War," and "Thirst."
