St. Helena To Host Tree Lighting, Other Holiday Events
St. Helena's holiday wine barrel tree is returning for the city's annual holiday celebration.
ST. HELENA, CA — The city of St. Helena and St. Helena Chamber of Commerce are gearing up for an exciting holiday season with holiday décor and a series of family-friendly activities scheduled for St. Helena residents and visitors throughout the months of November and December the city announced in a news release.
St. Helena’s festive holiday wine barrel tree is returning and will be installed on Hunt Avenue between Railroad Avenue and Main Street on Monday, Nov. 21. The official tree lighting will be held Wednesday Nov. 23 from 5-6:30 p.m. at the intersection of Hunt Avenue and Main Street.
“The City and Chamber invite the community to gather for an evening of fun and celebration of the season,” the city said.

St. Helena’s one-of-a-kind holiday wine barrel tree is made up of 109 wine barrels donated by Beringer Vineyards, standing at 32 feet tall and will be draped in lights, and decorated with over 230 feet of garland, the city said.
According to the news release, the tree lighting ceremony will kick off with live music by the Renegade Orchestra and warm beverages by Brasswood Bakery. At 5:30 p.m. attendees can expect a countdown to “turn on the lights” with help from St. Helena Fire Department.

“Live music and mingling will continue with the evening concluding at 6:30 p.m. Residents are encouraged to walk, bike, or stroll downtown with their neighbors and families,” the city said.
Other family friendly, and free, events scheduled at the wine barrel tree include a live snowfall Saturday, Dec. 3 from noon to 4 p.m., Photos with Santa Friday, Dec. 9 from 3 to 6 p.m., A Saxophones in St. Helena live performance by The California Repercussions music group Saturday, Dec. 10 from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. and a Community Ornament Making event with St. Helena Parks and Recreation Saturday, Dec. 17 from noon to 2 p.m.
