Major Injuries Reported In Hwy 29 Crash Near Yountville

The head-on collision was reported at 9:30 a.m. Monday.

NAPA COUNTY, CA β€” UPDATED: A 20-year-old American Canyon man suffered major injuries in a head-on crash on state Highway 29 north of Yountville this morning, according to the California Highway Patrol. The man was driving a 2000 Ford Mustang south on Highway 29 at Dwyer Road in unincorporated Napa County around 9:30 a.m. Monday when he crossed the double yellow lines and struck a northbound 2014 Lexus IS350 driven by a 37-year-old woman from Benicia, CHP Officer Marc Renspurger said.

The man suffered major injuries and was taken to Queen of the Valley Medical Center in Napa, and the woman was taken to the same hospital for treatment of minor injuries, Renspurger said.

Both drivers were wearing seat belts and both vehicles sustained major damage, Renspurger said.

Two cars crashed Monday morning in Napa County. The incident was reported around 9:30 a.m. on state Route 29 near Dwyer Road, according to the California Highway Patrol.

The CHP incident log said the crash blocked the roadway.

An ambulance was called to the scene.
