Traffic Alert: Oversized Load Arrival Delayed In American Canyon

AMERICAN CANYON, CA — An oversized load transport was initially expected to make its way through American Canyon Thursday morning but was experiencing delays, according to the city.

The arrival of the transport, which is escorted by the California Highway Patrol, was pushed back to 7 p.m.-9 p.m. Thursday, the city said in an update.

Due to the dynamic nature of the schedule, the city said, residents should be prepared for delays and closures for the remainder of the day on northbound state Highway 29 to American Canyon Road; the eastbound and westbound lanes of American Canyon Road from SR-29 to Newell Drive / Flosden Road; and southbound Flosden Road to Fairgrounds Drive.

"Please plan your travel accordingly and anticipate delays," the city said at 4:46 p.m. Thursday. "We apologize for any inconvenience and appreciate your understanding. For further updates, please visit American Canyon’s website."
