Winston's CUP To Operate Napa Café, Work Experience Program
The nonprofit will operate a retail food and beverage café supplemented by a program for those experiencing barriers to employment.
NAPA COUNTY, CA — The Napa County Health and Human Services Agency announced a new partnership with Winston’s Community Unity Project— CUP— to operate the café at HHSA.
Winston’s CUP is expected to begin operations Oct. 1 at 2751 Napa Valley Corporate Drive, Building B, in Napa. The retail food and beverage café will be open to the public, serving fresh and healthy meals for HHSA clients.
The café is supplemented by a work-experience program for those experiencing barriers to employment, including those who have struggled with homelessness and substance abuse. This new partnership introduces program participants to the occupation of professional cooking and food services, preparing them for entry-level jobs within the industry. Participants earn a food handlers’ certificate and receive education and training on basic safety guidelines, technical skills required to work in a commercial kitchen, and customer service.
