32 Flights Delayed At John Wayne Airport Due To East Coast Weather
Summer travel nightmares continued for airport travelers as thousands of flights across the nation were canceled or delayed Monday.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Severe weather on the East Coast affected dozens of flights out of John Wayne Airport, Los Angeles International Airport and other Southland airports Monday.
As of midday, there were 32 delays at John Wayne Airport in Orange County, according to the OCAir.com website. Travelers were advised to check their flights online and arrive at the airport accordingly. Numerous Delta, United and Air Canada flights were delayed by as much as an hour, while Southwest Airlines were running on time according to the arrival and departure board.
At LAX, nine flights were canceled, and 171 flights were delayed into or out of LAX, according to the tracking website FlightAware. There were 16 flights delayed in or out of Hollywood Burbank Airport, and Nine delays were reported at the Long Beach airport.

Alaska Airlines canceled three flights and delayed nine flights at LAX. United Airlines had 19 delayed flights and two were canceled. American Airlines had 15 delays one cancellation.
Southwest Airlines delayed 10 flights at Hollywood Burbank Airport.

At Philadelphia International Airport, more than 400 flights were either canceled or delayed on Sunday because of severe weather in the Delaware Valley and other areas.
Nearly 2,000 flights were canceled nationwide Sunday, according to FlightAware. Thousands more are expected to be canceled or delayed Monday.
Philadelphia International Airport had the most delays and cancellations than any other in the country Sunday.
