Beloved Newport Beach Mom Is 'Strong & Resilient At The Same Time'

NEWPORT BEACH-CORONA DEL MAR, CA— Moms do so much for everyone around them. We try to celebrate them all year long, but Mother's Day is a perfect opportunity to shout it from the rooftops and post it on Patch: Mom rocks!

Here at Patch we've launched an initiative to help recognize the awesome moms and mom figures in communities like yours.

What makes your Mom extra special?

Karen (Mom) is known in our community for her unconditional kindness and charity to anyone and everyone. Her ability to give to those in need is her expression of endless love. Karen is an 82-year-old widow and has had her share of life's adversities, for that reason she understands the daily challenges that people face. She has been a nurse and caregiver during her career, she knows about suffering which comes through life's trials and tribulations. Karen has beautiful grace with a strong will to survive especially during times of tragedy. Her love for life, family and those in need is one we should all exemplify in our own lives. Karen is a one-of-a-kind woman and mom ... strong and resilient at the same time. If we all would show the world a small amount of faith, hope and charity Karen gives everyone every day, how much better our world would be.

Why do you feel your Mom deserves the spotlight?

Karen is an unconditional, giving woman who has never expected any recognition for her charity to others.
