Chipotle Mexican Grill Testing New Garlic Guajillo Steak Item In OC
The Newport Beach-based fast-casual restaurant chain will offer its new menu item at participating locations in Orange County.
NEWPORT BEACH, CA — Chiptole fans in Orange County will get the chance to try a new item from the fast-casual chain starting Tuesday as it begins testing its garlic guajillo steak in select locations across the United States.
The Newport Beach-based company will test its new protein choice at participating restaurants in Denver, Indianapolis and Orange County for a limited time, Chipotle said in a statement.
The garlic guajillo steak features steak made with garlic and guajillo peppers that are then grilled and finished with lime and cilantro, the company said.

Chris Brandt, Chipotle's chief marketing officer, said the new item offers a "perfect little kick" of flavor.
"Menu innovation is an ongoing priority at Chiptole, and we are always looking for new flavors to give our fans new ways to Chipotle," Brandt said in a statement.
