Concerts On The Green Return To Newport Beach This Month

Newport Beach's evening concert series will be at the Civic Center and held once a month for five months.

NEWPORT BEACH, CA — City officials announced the lineup Thursday for this year's Concerts-on-the-Green series at the Newport Beach Civic Center.

The free concert series will be once a month on a Sunday from May to October, with the final performance at Marina Park rather than the Civic Center, Newport Beach officials said. The series kicks of on May 29.

  • May 29 with a performance from Mark Wood and the Parrot Head Band, a Jimmy Buffet tribute band
  • June 12 with a performance from Catch A Wave, a Beach Boys tribute band
  • July 17 with a performance from Billy Nation, a Billy Joel tribute band
  • Aug. 21 with a performance from Young Guns, a country music cover band
  • Sept. 18 with a performance from Britain's Finest, a Beatles tribute band
  • Oct. 2 with a performance from Stone Soul, a classic soul and Motown music cover band

The Civic Center concerts will be from 6 to 7:30 p.m., while the Oct. 2 concert at Marina Park concert will be from 4 to 5:30 p.m.

Food trucks will be available during the concerts, and attendees are encouraged to bring blankets, low-slung beach chairs and picnic diners, officials said.
