A fun and tasty new food truck concept is making waves in Southern California. The Lobsta Monsta, a New England-style lobster roll food truck, has officially launched its Kickstarter campaign to fund the buildout and bring buttery, toasted, claw-packed goodness to the West Coast.
Founded by local entrepreneur Kyle Patterson, The Lobsta Monsta is on a mission to deliver an authentic East Coast seafood experience—right on the shores of Newport Beach and beyond.
“There’s nothing like that first bite of a warm, buttery lobster roll,” said Patterson. “It’s a taste of summer on the docks of Maine—and we want to bring that to California in a fun, family-friendly way.”
The Kickstarter campaign, now live, gives early supporters a chance to back the project and claim exclusive rewards, including branded Lobsta Monsta hats, t-shirts, free meals once the truck launches, and even private lobster roll parties for top-tier backers.

Inspired by the Fisherman’s Wharf vibe and decked out in a playful nautical theme, The Lobsta Monsta will serve classic New England lobster rolls, coleslaw, rustic fries, and creative seafood twists with a West Coast edge.
Patterson, a seasoned brand builder and founder of Thrive Media Group, says the truck isn’t just about food—it’s about creating a memorable experience: “This truck is for SoCal families, tourists, the surf scene, and anyone who wants a bite of something fresh, unique and unforgettable.”
