Newport-Mesa Unified Names Lorie Hoggard As Rea Elementary Principal
Lorie Hoggard previously served as principal of Sonora and Killybrooke elementary schools, Newport-Mesa officials said.

COSTA MESA, CA — Rea Elementary School has found its new principal ahead of the new academic year, Newport-Mesa Unified School District officials announced last week.
Lorie Hoggard will lead the Costa Mesa campus starting July 1.
Hoggard previously served as Newport-Mesa's director of early childhood education and as principal of both Sonora and Killybrooke elementary schools.

Hoggard has a doctorate in educational leadership from the University of Southern California and a master's degree in curriculum and instruction from California State University, Long Beach, district officials said.
John Drake, Newport-Mesa's assistant superintendent of elementary education, praised Hoggard's appointment.

"Her experience and understanding of instructional leadership, combined with her focus on social-emotional needs, make her a great fit for Rea," Drake said in a statement.
