1 Dead In San Fernando Valley Motel Fire

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH, CA — One man died early Friday morning in a motel fire in Sylmar, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

No other people were injured and only one motel room caught fire, according to Erik Scott, LAFD public information officer. LAFD and the Los Angeles Police Department began an investigation Friday morning.

Authorities responded to the fire at 12225 North San Fernando Road around 6:16 a.m. to find one motel room on fire in a 17-room motel. The adult man was pronounced dead on the scene, according to Scott.
