1 Person Dead In Granada Hills Rollover Collision

NORTHRIDGE, CA — One person was pronounced dead Tuesday at the scene of a rollover collision between two cars on state Route 118, the Ronald Reagan Freeway, in Granada Hills, according to the Los Angeles Fire Department.

The dead person was not immediately identifed, according to the LAFD. It was not immediately clear whether there were additional injuries.

The California Highway Patrol issued an indefinite SigAlert for eastbound Route 118 just before Interstate Highway 405, the San Diego Freeway, at 11:53 a.m. The three left lanes were completely blocked as of 12:50 p.m. The SigAlert was cleared around 5 p.m.

The collision happened at the 11:44 a.m., according to the CHP. One of the two cars involved rolled eight times before it hit the sign for Interstate 405. Videos of the collision show that the car hit the center median.
