George R. Crow on March 10, 1888 filed a map of Chatsworth Park — named after the Duke of Devonshire's English estate called "Chatsworth House" — with the Los Angeles County Recorder's Office. At this time, Chatsworth was planned as a farming community, according to the Chatsworth Historical Society.
Last year's presentation included a walk through Chatsworth's history from 1888 on and showing photos of neighborhood landmarks like the first school, train station, the Chatsworth Hotel/Inn, the Chatsworth community church and more.
