A magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck the seabed about halfway between the Palos Verdes Peninsula and the northwestern tip of Santa Catalina today, USGC seismographs reported.
The quake hit at 12:25 p.m. with an epicenter pinpointed to be 12 miles south-southwest of Palos Verdes Point, or 18 miles from the City Hall at Torrance.
The quake was quite shallow, according to automated data from the
Southern California Seismographic Network.
