Average Northridge-Chatsworth Gas Prices Rise for 8th Time in 10 Days
The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Northridge-Chatsworth rose today for the 8th time in 10 days to $4.90.

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH -- The average price of a gallon of self-serve regular gasoline in Los Angeles County rose today for the eighth time in 10 days, increasing 1 cent to $4.90.
The average price has increased 4.9 cents over the past 10 days, including two-tenths of a cent Wednesday and 2.1 cents Tuesday, its largest increase since March 3, according to figures from the AAA and Oil Price Information Service. It is 3.5 cents more than one week ago but 4.5 cents less
than one month ago and $1.04 lower than one year ago.
The average price has dropped $1.594 since rising to a record $6.494 on Oct. 5.

The rising prices are partially the result of a supply problem in Arizona which may be affecting the amount of gasoline being produced locally for Southern California, Marie Montgomery, a public relations specialist with the Automobile Club of Southern California, told City News Service.
The national average price rose for the ninth consecutive day, increasing 2.5 cents to $3.553. It has increased 11.8 cents over the past nine days, including 2.1 cents Wednesday.

The national average price is 6.5 cents more than one week ago and 14.8 cents higher than one month ago but 61.1 cents less the one year ago. It has dropped $1.463 since rising to a record $5.016 on June 14.
