'Be A Hero': Where To Donate Blood In Northridge

NORTHRIDGE-CHATSWORTH, CA — The American Red Cross will host a blood drive Sunday in Northridge amid a nationwide blood shortage.

The drive will take place Sunday from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Our Lady of Lourdes Church, located at 18400 Kenzie Street. Visit the Red Cross website to schedule a time to donate blood. All volunteers will be entered to win a $10 Amazon gift card just for donating blood.

The American Red Cross, which supplies about 40 percent of blood in the U.S., is experiencing its worst blood shortage in more than a decade, the organization said in a news release. The Red Cross has seen a 10 percent decline in blood donations since March 2020, according to its website.
