Did you know that over the past fourteen years California Rainbow for Girls (CAIORG) have earned and donated over $1,000,000 to their annual "Grand Service Projects" - a project chosen each year by the girl members?

For the 2021-22 year, California Rainbow chose the Fresno Chaffee Zoo as their annual fundraising project and announced their donation of $77,547.00 at their convention in April. The Fresno Chaffee Zoo Wildlife Conservation Fund has worked with dozens of individuals and organizations to further research, expand conservation impact, share knowledge, and engage local communities. The donation enabled the zoo to break ground in July on the tiger bridge in the zoo’s new Kingdoms of Asia exhibit.

The International Order of the Rainbow for Girls is a nonprofit organization for girls between the ages of 11 and 20. It prepares the girls of today to be the leaders of tomorrow through leadership training, service and sisterhood. Each year California Rainbow chooses a Non-Profit organization in California that members across the state serve and support.

Our local chapter, San Fernando Valley #223, has been a part of that tradition for over 75 years. These girls have held restaurant fundraisers, bake sales and so much more each year to donate their part to the state philanthropy. The girls also give back to their community by volunteering through local charities such as the Walk to End Alzheimers, San Fernando pet shelters, M.E.N.D., and Operation Gratitude.
