Chatsworth Day of the Horse is This Sunday

The yearly event features live entertainment, including several horse exhibitions.

The 10th Annual Chatsworth Day of the Horse Celebration is being held this Sunday at a free event where attendees can enjoy several equine exhibitions and refreshments.

There won't be many opportunities for people to get on a horse, but a few professionals will be on hand to show off their riding skills.

Scheduled appearances include the Conejo Valley Riders drill team, the Valley Vaulters, Pride Therapeutic Riding Program and a horse parade showcasing 20 different breeds.

Mary Kaufman, chairman of the Chatsworth Neighborhood Council's Equestrian Committee, which organized the event, said there's one big stipulation for entry.

"For safety reasons we are asking that everyone leave their dog at home,” she said. "Most dogs don’t know how to behave around horses—sometimes it
takes training for both the dogs and horses.”
